Swimsuit Season

I have never been so excited about swimsuit season in my whole life. NO...not for me...for ADDISON!! I bought her her first swimsuit today and it is the CUTEST thing ever. I can not wait for her to wear it! Yes, I know that if she goes swimming that means I will have to go too...which inevitably means getting into a swimsuit as well, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Right now, I'm just excited about her little swimsuit...and getting to take her swimming for the first time (even though it's still a bit away). But, seriously...how cute is this swimsuit?! I'll post pictures of her in it when she tries it on. So, for the first time, let me say...YEAH for swimsuit season!! :)

LOST

Mr. Duckie:
blue fuzzy head, yellow beak, green hands, orange feet, purple body, and the best tag ever.
He was last seen soaking wet, with carrots covering up part of his blue head, and all the writing rubbed off of the tag.
If you have seen him or know where he is, please contact my mom or dad, he was my favorite friend.
"I don't know what happened..."
"I was just playing with him one day..."

"And then he was gone...mom and dad say he will turn up...but I'm getting worried."

Snow Day

It has snowed a lot in Lubbock this year. I remember growing up we were always so excited if it snowed more than once each winter. And, I could probably count on one hand the number of school days we missed because of snow. But, this winter, our first winter back in Lubbock, and Addison's first winter ever, it has snowed a lot. I HAD to get pictures of Addison in the snow and so I bundled her all up, even though she wasn't in a great mood, and took her outside knowing that this would probably be the last time it snowed until next year. It has snowed at least two or three times since I took these pictures...but at least we have her "first snow" documented.

Addison, not enjoying the snow/cold so much.
But very interested in her feet.
Trying to catch a snow flake. :)
"Can we go in yet?"

Grammy's Visit

Brad's mom, 'Grammy,' came to visit this past weekend. It was so much fun to have her here. She played with, cuddled, and bathed Addison - much to Addison's delight.

Addison with daddy and Grammy.
"I LOVE GRAMMY!"

Daddy's Girl

Addison loves spending time with her daddy! Brad coming home from work is one of her favorite parts of the day...and I think he kind of likes it too. ;) You should see how they both light up when they are together.

Turning as far around as possible to get a good look at daddy.
Enjoying cuddles with daddy while he reads her a story.

Loving on her daddy.
Playing with daddy...

...and playing some more.

Valentine's Day

Addison had a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with a lot of love...and red and pink. :)
Checking to make sure it is really o.k. for her to open her present.

Looking at her first Valentine's card.

In her Valentine's day dress.

"I LOVE VALENTINE'S DAY!!"

Big Girl Food

Addison started rice cereal at about five months. She LOVES it. She acted like I had been depriving her of this amazing food all of her life. We started vegetables and fruit about a week ago. I was a little concerned about this because everything I read had said how hard it is. There have been plenty of hard things that we have encountered in the last six months, but this is definitely not one of them. Addison started with carrots. I had the camera ready for the face I was sure she was going to make. Nothing. All I got was a wide mouthed baby leaning forward to the point I thought she might fall out of her highchair wanting me to hurry up with her next bight. She loves her carrots, and everything else we've tried so far. Meals have become a favorite time.
"Hi, everybody!"

"Why are you surprised I like 'real' food? I like anything that makes me more independent!" ;)
