A Big Day

May 9th was not only special because it was my first Mother's Day (with a baby in my arms, rather than in my tummy), it was special because it was also baby dedication at our church. I love being a mommy and couldn't ask for a better job, or a more amazing daughter!

Headed to church. I feel like Addison is thinking, "I can tell this is going to be a long day!"

Taking Down the Swing

This is just one of those looking back moments that I love. We had resigned our swing to the guest room, really to get it out of the way until we were sure we wouldn't use it anymore and we could take it down. I was changing the sheets in that room the other day and I put Addison in the swing to occupy her for a moment while I did my work. After I put her in it I stepped back and almost laughed at just how much she had outgrown her swing. I had to take a picture...and then compare it with others I had taken!

Two weeks old.


Four months old.

Eight months old.

Yep, no more putting it off, I think it's definitely time to take down the swing!

Summer, Here We Come!

Here is the picture of Addison in her swimsuit that I promised a while back. I just LOVE it. And I'm pretty sure she thinks she looks pretty cute in it too. ;) YEAH! for summer being here...our pool opens next weekend. Can't wait to take little miss swimming!

Roll on in and Back it Up

Addison has been determined to get where she wants to go for sometime (I think since she was a month old), and is now trying her hardest to accomplish this goal. However, since she is not yet crawling I'm afraid that it usually just ends in frustration rather than actually going where she wants to go. Here are a few pictures of where her travels have taken her. (You will notice the bewilderment on her face in most of these pictures.)

The scooting/crawling backwards had to be the most frustrating stage for Missy-Lou. She would see what she wanted, muster all of her strength and start moving - only to be getting further and further away. And the problem with only being able to move in one direction is that when you end up in a predicament where you are up to your waist in couch or bar stool, there is nothing left to do, and no where else to go - all you can do is cry and wait to be rescued. Her Grandad's both say she has her transmission stuck in reverse. Hopefully, she'll be able to switch gears soon enough and won't be left so frustrated all of the time! But, until then I'm sure she'll just keep on rolling in and backing it up. :)

Eight Months

"Wait...it's not naptime?"

Happy eight month day sweet girl!

"No pictures, please."

So...is it just me or is this little girl REALLY growing up! So crazy! Here are a few things Addison was doing in her eighth month:

• Waving hi and bye to everyone.
• Sitting in the cart when we go to the store. (Riding in the cart could keep Addison entertained for hours. She has so much fun doing this! Although it makes shopping easier on me it also takes a lot more time as she waves hi to everyone we pass and they then want to stop and talk to her. haha.)
• Is sleeping great at night and taking great naps!!
• Pushed up on all fours and has started rocking back and forth.
• Rolls everywhere.
• Scoots long distances backwards - which frustrates her to no end.
• Can stand for a few seconds on her own (and by a few I mean very few.:)
• Moved to a size three diaper.
• Has started wearing some 6-9 month clothes, but can still fit into her 6 month clothes.
• Very friendly and let's people pass her around.
• Is happy and content to play by herself for long periods of time.
• Has become very efficient at eating her puffs. She hardly lets one get away from her anymore!
