Four Months

Addison is four months old!
(And yes, she looks like her daddy. :)

Addison turned four months old on Dec. 20. Her fourth month was a very big month for her. She made two trips during this time. The first was to San Antonio after Thanksgiving to see her daddy's side of the family, and the second was to go to Dallas to celebrate Aunt Jen's graduation, then to Gilmer to see Grammy and Grandad and their new house, and then back to Dallas for a night, for dinner with Rand and Joni and some more Aunt Jen time. She had a lot of fun and made a lot of people smile, but she was exhausted at the end of it and so glad to be back home. She has just now gotten back to a "normal" sleep schedule after all of her travels! Some things she has been up to this month...

  • Addison laughed for the first time the day after her three month birthday. Since then she laughs at different silly things her mommy or daddy do, but will not usually laugh at the same thing twice. Keeps us constantly looking for new silly things!

  • Her first rigger, also known to some as a shiver. :) This is one of the things she does that always makes me laugh, even though I know it is completely out of her control. The night we returned from San Antonio, Addison had just finished eating and I sat her up to burp her, and her body shook and I kid you not she said brrr. lol. I guess we need to turn up the heat in our house? Since then she does this every now and then, usually right after eating.

  • Addison is rolling! I laid her down on her tummy for tummy time one night, and before I could even blink she was on her back. I laughed thinking I must have put her down wrong, picked her up and laid her down on her tummy again, and immediately she was on her back. She has had very little tummy time since then as she has definitely become a pro at rolling over.

  • Rolling from back to tummy. She has done this once and sadly enough, I missed it. She was playing on the floor, and I looked over from across the room and she was on her tummy, just looking around. She hasn't rolled from back to tummy since then...not a whole lot of motivation for this one!

  • Supports her own weight when standing - which is her favorite thing to do!

  • Splashes in the bath so much that I end up soaked.

  • Had her first cold....and we both survived! :)

  • Moved to size two diapers. I think she was in size one diapers for about two weeks. haha.

  • Is wearing size 3-6 month one piece clothing (like onesies, and cute little jumper type outfits), but is still wearing size 0-3 month in everything else.

  • Had a great four month appointment with Dr. Gray. Everything looks good and she continues to be moving along her growth chart. She weighed 12 lbs 8 oz (25th percentile) and is 26 inches long (95th percentile). I don't remember her head measurement but it continues to be in the 50th percentile. Dr. Gray wants us to start rice cereal, and then real food after her 6 month appointment. I can't believe how fast she is growing up!
